Craigellachie Lodge History
The Lodge was run as a successful guest house for many years before becoming a private residence more recently. After purchasing the Lodge in May 2014, we have been lovingly refurbishing to re-open as a guest house in 2015!
We are keen to find out the history of Craigellachie Lodge and have been frequent visitors of the local libraries in the last few months. If you have any historical information or historical photos, we would love for you to contact us on info@CraigellachieLodge.co.uk.
Craigellachie is a small Scottish village dating back to at least 1750 and is located in the heart of the Malt Whisky Trail, with Macallan, Glenfiddich, Balvenie, Glen Grant and Aberlour distilleries, plus many more, all within five miles of the Lodge.
Craigellachie is also world renowned for its 200 year old bridge, designed by Thomas Telford. The bridge is just a ten minute walk from Craigellachie Lodge.
There are a variety of activities and things for you to explore while based in Craigellachie. Please check out our Speyside page for further information.
Stayed in this lovely lodge at the start of a few days walking the Speyside way. A warm welcome, fabulous food and a comfortable clean room. The house is lovely and only a short walk from the village and the river.
Beautiful location – great innkeepers
The Lodge is a wonderful, small lodge in the heart of whisky country. The rooms were spacious and clean. They include thoughtful little indulgences – tea, coffee and cookies, sparkling water and fantastic smelling toiletries.
Can we move in? 🙂
Can’t say enough good things. The home & grounds are absolutely stunning. It’s that place you imagine staying in when you come to Speyside for the 1st time.. and then better.
A warm welcome in Speyside
A former fishing lodge, this is now a lovingly restored and very welcoming family home. The village of Craigellachie is right on the Speyside Way and the Lodge is an ideal base or stop-over for exploring this beautiful area.
First class accommodation and hospitality
I have been fishing in Speyside now for 20 years and in the last 2 years I have visited 4 times a year for 3 days fishing (2 nights). The best accommodation and hospitality that I have experienced has been at Craigellachie Lodge.
